SACCA Update – National Cannabis Survey Participation & Governance Expansion

The South African Cannabis Club Alliance (SACCA) is urgently calling on all stakeholders within the local cannabis sector to participate in the National Cannabis Survey, now live and accessible via AfriMeter’s dedicated digital platform.

AfriMeter has developed a secure online infrastructure for SACCA that enables growers, processors, cannabis clubs, researchers, and broader industry participants to contribute their insights in a structured and accessible way.

This Survey Matters – and Time Is Critical

The data collected through this survey is not just for discussion—it will form a key part of SACCA’s formal submissions to relevant government departments.

This means participation is time-sensitive and extremely important. The more comprehensive and representative the dataset, the stronger and more credible our collective voice will be when engaging with policymakers and regulatory bodies.

We therefore strongly encourage all stakeholders to participate as soon as possible. Your input will directly influence how the sector is understood and represented at a national level.

Strengthening Indigenous Representation in Governance

In line with strengthening governance and inclusive representation, SACCA has expanded its Joint Steering Committee to include Snoux Poswa and Zainodean Simmers.

Their inclusion significantly strengthens the voice of South Africa’s indigenous communities within national cannabis coordination structures. It ensures that traditional leadership, cultural knowledge systems, and grassroots perspectives are meaningfully integrated into ongoing stakeholder engagement and policy development processes.

International Cannabis Symposium Participation

SACCA is also pleased to confirm that its panel will be attending the upcoming International Cannabis Symposium in June this year.

This platform provides an important opportunity for engagement with both local and international stakeholders, and for presenting early insights emerging from the National Cannabis Survey process.

Final Call for Participation

The success of this initiative depends entirely on broad and active participation from across the cannabis value chain. If you are part of the industry—whether as a grower, club operator, processor, or service provider—your input is not optional in shaping the bigger picture, it is essential.

This data will directly inform SACCA’s formal submissions to government departments and regulatory stakeholders. If you do not participate, your reality will not be represented in the national record.

We urge all stakeholders to complete the survey as a matter of priority and help ensure the sector is accurately reflected at policy level.
